Should you or not ?

Im currently expecting my second child. My baby is 2. Im in the process of potty training and its sooo difficult to me! Well, he voluntarily went to the potty so I was so excited, then 2 minutes later I come in and hes literally in the toilet!....Well his behind was and part of his back, therefore his shirt was wet! He apparently enjoys doing this because it is not the first time he does it and all along he has a huge grin! Well, I hardly him or hit him, but yesterday I was having one of those days and I started him...Im worried if this was wrong or not because first of all I scared him, and I did it out of anger. But I did it so many times, Im not even sure I was careful doing it, I have a heavy hand and he cried but got over it quickly. His skin was a little pink but soon, got better. Theres soo much controversy with this issue I just want to know what everyone thinks about it and is it really a bad thing or not. I mean if Im him its so he can listen, Im not torturing him. Its not like Im making him kneel on rice, extend his arms and make him hold 2 encyclopedias....I would know what this is like..my parents are soooo old fashioned!! I just dont want him to go through harsh punishments like I did, so I question if is ALSO bad now a days....wut do you think??
