The effect of temperature on brine shrimp?
Roisin, at 47 degrees C (equals 114 degress F), the brine shrimps eggs will not hatch because the shrimps' life cycle begins by the hatching of dormant cysts which are encased embryos that are metabolically inactive. The enzymes in the eggs are rich; since brine shrimps grow best in 25 degrees C (77 degrees F), the cysts burst and the embryo leaves the shell. However, 47 degrees C is higher than the normal body temp for a human (98.6 degrees F); while it starts desolving the enzymes of the eggs, effecting the hatchings of brine shrimps.
