A question....Botany?

Hey...I've got a bit of a problem...our Botany lecturer has asked us to write down points on the beneficial aspects of plants and how they help in maintaining oxygen and carbon dioxide balance in the atmosphere... i cant think of more than oone point...can you please help me out....?
